"summary": "Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V V Rajesh has clarified that former DGP and BJP councillor R Sreelekha has not resigned and will continue in her post as councillor. The issue arose after a message seemingly posted by Sreelekha in a WhatsApp group claimed she had submitted her resignation to the mayor, which Rajesh received on September 30. However, Rajesh later stated that no such resignation letter exists and emphasized the importance of smooth governance in the corporation. Meanwhile, CPI(M) leader V Sivankutty has criticized Sreelekha, alleging she cannot be trusted and is using threats to gain power. Sreelekha, who won the last local body election on a BJP ticket, is crucial for the party's narrow majority in the 101-member civic body.",
