"account": "Germany's Lennart Jasch secured his inaugural professional General Classification (GC) title at the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) as the event concluded with Stage Eight on August 14, 2023. The Tudor Pro Cycling Team rider finished the eight-stage race in 28 hours, 57 minutes, and two seconds, leading by 26 seconds over Caja Rural-Seguros RGA's Abel Balderstone. Jasch's teammate Jan Castellon placed third, 42 seconds behind. The 26-year-old also claimed the polka dot jersey as king of the mountains, accumulating 45 points, with Petr Rikunov of Wheeltop Rotor Chengdu Team securing second place with 41 points, and Castellon in third with 26 points. Jasch, who arrived in Malaysia as a new professional aiming for a top-five finish, expressed his gratitude to the team and supporters, crediting their efforts for his impressive performance. He had initially targeted a top-five finish but was thrilled to emerge victorious, marking his first professional GC win and the first outside of Europe. This victory was particularly memorable as it was his first professional GC triumph and the first outside Italy. Jasch had already etched his name in LTdL history by becoming the first rider to win a stage finishing at Gunung Jerai, a position he held from Stage Two until the race's conclusion.",
