"summary": "The National Youth Service (NYS) has clarified that a viral video showing an officer slapping a civilian in a bus is not a recent incident, but rather one that occurred two years ago. The incident, which resurfaced on social media, depicts NYS officers confronting a male civilian inside a public service vehicle, with one officer seen assaulting the man and shouting at him. NYS issued a public notice on October 4, 2026, stating that the matter was promptly addressed at the time and brought to the attention of relevant authorities. The Service emphasized its commitment to discipline, professional conduct, and the rule of law, reaffirming that any misconduct by its personnel is dealt with through appropriate administrative and legal mechanisms. NYS urged the public not to be alarmed by the recirculation of the footage and thanked them for their continued confidence and partnership.",
