"account": "German Chancellor Friedrich Merz embarked on an unannounced visit to Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, to express solidarity with the nation amidst its conflict with Russia. Merz reiterated Ukraine's need for support, warning that Russia would eventually target them if the aggression persisted. Accompanied by Economy Minister Katherina Reiche, the German leader pledged his country's unwavering assistance to Ukraine, emphasizing its own security interests tied to the outcome of the war. His trip coincided with Russia's warning to foreigners and diplomats to vacate Kyiv, citing impending large-scale airstrikes. Despite this, numerous nations have disregarded the Russian caution and maintained visits to Kyiv, driven by determination to aid Ukraine. Kyiv has endured intense airstrikes, prompting Ukrainian officials to request additional air defense systems to fend off Russian drone and missile assaults. Recent Russian attacks targeted bridges and energy infrastructure in the city, with Mayor Vitali Klitschko describing the situation as \"very dramatic.\"",
