"account": "Malaysians intending to marry in southern Thailand are being advised to enter the country legally and with valid travel documents, according to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla. Consul General Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi emphasized that if they bypass immigration laws, the consulate would be unable to issue a confirmation letter required for court proceedings related to marriage registration in Malaysia. While the consulate receives requests for confirmation, they cannot provide it if the individuals have violated Thai immigration laws upon entering the country. Fahmi urged Malaysians to respect Thai laws and understand the implications of their actions. Currently, around 70 Malaysians are detained in prisons across southern Thailand, with the majority being held in connection to drug-related offenses, primarily in Narathiwat province.",
