"account": "Malaysia anticipates transitioning into an Aged Nation by 2036, with citizens aged 60 and above expected to make up 15% of the total population, according to Department of Statistics Malaysia data. Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri addressed the National Senior Citizens Day 2026 celebration in Melaka, emphasizing the need for preparedness in eldercare, public health, employment, and financial security sectors. She reaffirmed that the government views senior citizens as valuable national assets, bringing experience and bridging generational gaps. To strengthen social support systems, the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development is expanding age-friendly community initiatives and Senior Citizens Activity Centres under the National Policy for Senior Citizens. So far, through the Senior Citizen Assistance Scheme, RM711.8 million has been disbursed to 171,236 eligible recipients, providing monthly targeted relief of RM600. The ministry is also creating a Strategic Framework and Care Action Plan for 2026-2030 to establish professional caregiving standards, address expertise gaps, and promote Ageing-in-Place practices nationwide.",
