"account": "Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has instructed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to commence preparations for the 2028 general election immediately. Dr Bawumia communicated that the party’s recent national delegates conference marked a successful internal rebuilding and restructuring, culminating in the election of its national executives. He emphasized that the NPP now has a mandate from its delegates to secure political power in the upcoming election and urged the new leadership to commence their work forthwith. \"There is no time to waste,\" he stressed multiple times, highlighting the urgency of the task at hand. He further called for party unity, particularly in light of internal competition for various positions, assuring that those who lost their contested positions would still be integral to the 2028 campaign. Dr Bawumia expressed that the NPP's success in 2028 hinges on its ability to maintain unity, stating that unity within the party is crucial for victory. He urged all factions to set aside internal disputes and collaborate towards the next election, emphasizing that elections might conclude, but the party's collective goal remains to win and govern in 2028. He cautioned that the 2028 election would not be an easy endeavor, requiring intense effort and dedication. Dr Bawumia urged the NPP to surpass its previous campaign efforts, particularly those from 2000 and 2016, and to start developing their campaign strategies immediately. He emphasized that the party should meet this week to begin formulating their plans to capture power in 2028.",
