"account": "Toba Tek Singh: Syeda Sughra Imam, a former provincial minister and ex-Senator, has re-entered the political arena with the intent to contest the upcoming general election from her hometown constituency in Jhang. It is anticipated that she will face off against her relative, former federal minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, who finished second in the 2024 election from NA-108, Jhang, and was ultimately defeated by Sahibzada Mahboob Sultan, who received support from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).\n\nImam, the daughter of well-known politicians Syeda Abida Hussain and Syed Fakhar Imam, expressed her satisfaction with the Supreme Court's recent decision to render honor-killing offenses non-compoundable. The judge's ruling, she believes, marks a significant stride in preventing such cases from being resolved through compromise.\n\nImam claims she actively worked on drafting and presenting the relevant legislation in 2014, which was ultimately passed by the Senate in 2016. She emphasizes the necessity of this legal reform in resolving loopholes that had previously enabled honor-killing cases to be settled through compromise.\n\nMoreover, Imam is advocating for consistent community-awareness initiatives to challenge harmful practices and enhance the protection of women and children.",
