"account": "A devastating fire ignited near the primary access route to the revered Inca site of Machu Picchu in Peru, resulting in one fatality and two serious casualties, officials reported on Saturday. The conflagration ignited on Friday in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, a region encompassing the bustling Ollantaytambo train station, a crucial hub for tourists seeking to explore Machu Picchu. Miguel Osco, director of the Cusco Regional Office for Disaster Management and Safety, disclosed to RPP radio that the fire claimed the life of an elderly individual and inflicted second-degree burns on two others. The blaze is believed to have started from controlled bush burning, a practice farmers employ to prepare land for planting crops. The flames rapidly escalated due to the combination of high temperatures, gusty winds, and arid vegetation. Machu Picchu, constructed by the Incas in the 15th century at an elevation of 2,500 meters in the Andes Mountains, is recognized as an architectural marvel. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, it draws approximately three million visitors annually.",
