"account": "Sibu, October 4 — A tragic head-on collision involving a car and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) pickup truck near the Pulau Dudong Roundabout along Jalan Dudong claimed the lives of a husband and wife, while five others sustained injuries. The devastating incident occurred on a rainy afternoon, with the car and truck coming to rest damaged and overturned, respectively. Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 4 Sibu chief Andy Alie reported that emergency services responded to the scene at 4.22 pm after receiving the distress call at 4.15 pm. The two victims, Julaihi Raduan, 52, and his wife, Marliza Salleh, 49, were found trapped and unresponsive inside the car. Despite the rescue efforts, both succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The pickup truck occupants, comprising two adults and three children, suffered minor injuries and were administered initial treatment by paramedics on the spot. Police confirmed that the two vehicles collided head-on, though the precise details of the crash are still under investigation. The bodies were subsequently handed over to the police for further proceedings, and six firefighters, along with one Fire Rescue Tender from Sibu Jaya Bomba Station, were involved in the rescue operations. The matter is currently being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.",
