"account": "Sibu, October 4 — A tragic accident occurred near the Pulau Dudong Roundabout on Jalan Dudong in Sarawak yesterday afternoon. In a head-on collision involving a car and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) pickup truck, a husband and wife lost their lives, while five others sustained injuries. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 4 Sibu chief, Andy Alie, reported the incident at around 4:15pm. Firefighters from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 4:22pm. The two victims, identified as Julaihi Raduan, 52, and his wife, Marliza Salleh, 49, were found trapped and unconscious inside the car. Rescue teams used specialized tools and a stretcher to extricate them from the vehicle. Paramedics from Sibu Hospital later confirmed the fatal nature of their injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, whose name was not disclosed, and three of its passengers – two adults and three children – sustained minor injuries and received initial medical attention at the scene. The remaining details of the crash are under investigation, though it is believed to have been a head-on collision. The bodies of the deceased were later handed over to the police for further proceedings. The incident, which falls under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, involved six firefighters and one Fire Rescue Tender from Sibu Jaya Bomba Station in the rescue operation. The Sibu police chief, ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, confirmed the details of the case.",
