"summary": "Nigeria is marking its 66th Independence anniversary. Elderly citizens who witnessed the country's independence celebration are sharing their disappointments about Nigeria's decline.\n\nThe Daily Post Nigeria reports that Paul Ibe, a media aide to Atiku Abubakar, criticised President Bola Tinubu's Independence Day address, saying he failed to adequately address the country's worsening insecurity. According to Ibe, Tinubu only made brief references to insecurity and thanked the security forces, but did not provide a detailed assessment of the issue.\n\nIn Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Nigerian embassy marked the country's Independence anniversary with a strong diplomatic presence.",
