"summary": "Nigeria marked its 66th Independence anniversary. Elderly citizens who witnessed the first celebration expressed disappointment at the nation's decline.\n\nPresident Bola Tinubu's Independence Day address was criticised by Paul Ibe, a media aide to Atiku Abubakar, who said the president failed to adequately address the country's worsening insecurity. Ibe noted that Tinubu made brief references to insecurity and thanked the security forces but did not provide a detailed assessment of the killings, kidnappings, and attacks on communities.\n\nThe Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, also marked the anniversary, highlighting Nigeria's diplomatic presence.",
