The site reported that streets were blocked for an extended period and that Russian security services were present near the vehicle. Later, VChK-OGPU's Telegram channel confirmed Syromyatnikov's death, stating he had been placed on Ukraine's wanted list. A local media outlet corroborated the serviceman's demise. Myrotvorets, an independent non-governmental database, alleged that Syromyatnikov was accused of torturing Ukrainian prisoners of war at Correctional Colony No. 1 in Tula Oblast.
