"summary": "President Trump has publicly pressured Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, to support a bill that would make daylight saving time permanent. On Saturday, Trump posted on social media, urging his supporters to call Senator Cotton's phone number, which appeared to be his personal cellphone number.\n\nThe bill in question, known as the Sunshine Protection Act, passed the House of Representatives in July with a vote of 308 to 117. However, it faces opposition in the Senate, where some Republicans, including Senator Cotton, are strongly opposed. According to Cotton, making daylight saving time permanent would lead to darker and potentially more hazardous winter mornings.\n\nTrump has previously expressed support for making daylight saving time permanent, calling it \"Great News for America!\" when the bill passed the House. However, he has also changed his position on the issue in the past, having previously called for daylight saving time to be eliminated. The bill would allow states to opt out of the change if their legislatures act to do so before the bill's enactment.",
