"account": "Sammy Crabbe, a former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced a unity alliance with fellow National Chairmanship aspirant John Boadu, according to a signed statement released on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The duo aims to unite and motivate party members, promising to institute unity and discipline under John Boadu's leadership. Crabbe, who had been contesting for the National Chairman position in the 2026 election, emphasized that a vote for John Boadu is a vote for him, clarifying that this is not a withdrawal but rather a stepping up in their alliance. The announcement comes as the NPP National Delegates Conference is underway at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, aiming to elect new national executives ahead of the 2028 general elections. Four candidates—John Boadu, Sammy Crabbe, Paul Afoko, and Boakye Agyarko—are vying for the chairmanship. Boadu, who secured the top spot on the ballot, currently leads in recent polls with 46.5% support, followed by Agyarko, Afoko, and Crabbe.",
