"account": "Marcus Stokes set a career-high with five touchdowns as Memphis thrashed Charlotte 59-8 in their American Conference opener on Saturday. The Tigers completed 20 of 25 passes for 318 yards. Jermane Hayes led the scoring for Memphis with six receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown. Early in the first half, Stokes connected with Hayes on 93-yard, 25-yard, and 28-yard scoring passes. Philippe Laforge added a 20-yard field goal for a 24-0 halftime lead. Charlotte managed to score when Henry Rutledge ran 75 yards untouched on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter. A two-point conversion reduced the deficit to 24-8. Memphis responded with a six-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Stonka Burnside. Rutledge had 111 rushing yards on six carries. The Tigers' largest win since defeating North Alabama 59-0 on November 19, 2022. The game's start was moved to 11 a.m. EST from 3:30 p.m. EST due to expected bad weather. Memphis now travels to face UAB next Saturday, while Charlotte will attempt to rebound when the 49ers visit North Texas next Saturday.",
