"account": "In 2019, Nvidia unveiled the Shield streaming box, which has been running Android TV with AI upscaling and hardware decoding for various media types. Initially priced at $199.99, the non-Pro variant went for $149.99, but the non-Pro version has since been discontinued. The more advanced Shield TV Pro is now at $299.99, up from its original $199.99 price tag. Nvidia attributes this price hike to the surge in component costs due to AI advancements, a spokesperson explained. Nvidia still actively manufactures and sells every Shield unit it produces, but the rising costs of memory and other components have led to increased prices for new units. The Shield's supply chain is facing similar challenges as those of modern smartphones and computers. Nvidia, being a significant player in AI, is partly responsible for the current component price surge. This price increase has made the Shield less appealing for those seeking a simple streaming device, as cheaper alternatives are available. The Shield is currently out of stock on Nvidia's store but can be found at a higher price on Best Buy.",
