"account": "Four-star point guard Taylor Brown announced her commitment to South Carolina women's basketball, choosing coach Dawn Staley's program over North Carolina and Tennessee. Standing at 5-foot-6, Brown ranks No. 30 overall in ESPN's Class of 2027 rankings. She made her decision on October 3rd, becoming the first commitment for Staley this cycle. Hailing from Philadelphia, Brown's high school was Long Island Lutheran in New York. She took her official visit to South Carolina during the weekend of September 19th, joining fellow recruits Jezelle GG Banks (No. 4 overall) and Jordyn Palmer (No. 8). Staley and her assistants Lisa Boyer and Jolette Law visited Brown in New York on September 30th. Prior to South Carolina, Brown had visited North Carolina in June. Brown and Banks, who used to play together at Ursuline Academy in Delaware, complement each other's styles, with Brown being a traditional point guard and Banks more of a combo wing. They have previously played together in high school and could potentially share the floor again in college if Banks chooses the Gamecocks. Brown is known as a good facilitator who likes to push the ball in transition and scores at all three levels. In a May interview on Sportslifetalk, she discussed being a two-way player and how defense energizes her and is her favorite aspect of the game. A defensive-minded point guard like Brown fits well at South Carolina, where Raven Johnson is the most recent example. Brown suffered a season-ending knee injury in February but started jogging again in July, according to her social media. South Carolina athletics reporter Lulu Kesin covers the story for The Greenville News and the USA TODAY Network.",
