"summary": "Iran has executed Siavash Jamshidi Kheirabadi, a detainee from the January 2025 anti-regime protests, for allegedly firing at police, according to the country's judiciary. The execution comes amid Iran's ongoing crackdown on those involved in the mass demonstrations, which erupted on December 28, 2025, over economic hardship and grew into widespread calls for the end of clerical rule. Jamshidi Kheirabadi was arrested two days after the incident in Shahrekord, southwestern Iran, and accused of organizing anti-security activities and seeking payment for a mission. The protests, which Iran blamed on armed groups and operatives backed by the US and Israel, saw over 900 Iranian citizens executed by President Masoud Pezeshkian, who, when questioned about the regime's actions, did not answer a question about the morality of executing citizens.",
