"account": "His Excellency Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, the 2028 presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party, delivered an address at the National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event brought together committed patriots from various backgrounds across Ghana.\n\nBawumia expressed gratitude to the Ashanti Region and the conference attendees for their support, particularly emphasizing the region's role in sustaining the party through difficult times. He acknowledged the contributions of former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as well as their predecessor, Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Akufo-Addo.\n\nThe conference marked a new chapter for the NPP, with the aim of electing new national executives to lead the party to victory in the 2028 elections. Bawumia thanked outgoing national executives for their efforts during a challenging period and honored Acting National Chairman Danquah Smith Buttey for his leadership during a critical time.\n\nHe paid tribute to Bernad Antwi Boasiako, former Ashanti Regional Chairman, and Bernard Wontumi, Chairman Wontumi, highlighting their dedication to the party. Bawumia also recognized former National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim for his extensive service.\n\nThe conference provided an opportunity to discuss the party's future direction, with 47 members vying for nine national offices. Bawumia encouraged aspirants to support each other and reassured those who did not win that the party needed them to continue serving.\n\nBawumia emphasized that the NPP's reformation was already underway, noting their decision to hold early Presidential Primaries and the establishment of various policy committees. The conference contributed to the rebuilding of party structures and the development of a comprehensive government program.",
