"summary": "The kidnappers of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and others have given a 24-hour ultimatum to their families to raise a N1bn ransom or face dire consequences for their children's safety. The abductees were reportedly traveling from Ibadan to their NYSC orientation camps in Imo State when gunmen attacked the two buses they were in. The kidnappers have been contacting the families through the kidnapped members' mobile phones, demanding N50m ransom per victim. The parents and guardians of the abducted youths have appealed to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the state Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector-General of Police for immediate intervention to secure their release. Security agencies have intensified operations to locate and rescue the victims, with drones used to locate the suspected camp where the remaining abductees are being held.",
