"account": "Former Speaker of Parliament Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to select leaders who possess a clear vision, a proven track record, and the ability to work harmoniously within the party ahead of the 2028 general election. During the NPP’s National Delegates Conference, Professor Oquaye emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among the party's leaders and their parliamentary caucus, as well as the candidate and his team. He cautioned that internal divisions could jeopardise the party's prospects in the upcoming election, stating that harmony is imperative.\n\nThe NPP's presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been lauded for his excellent track record, manifesto, and candidacy. Professor Oquaye expressed confidence in Bawumia's ability to lead the party to victory. Additionally, he praised the performance of the NPP's Minority Caucus in Parliament, highlighting their notable achievements despite their smaller numerical advantage.\n\nAs the NPP elects its national executives to oversee the party's organisation and preparations for the 2028 general election, the conference is underway in Kumasi with over 7,000 delegates in attendance.",
