"account": "Former National Chair of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe, has withdrawn from the race to become the new party leader, according to a statement released ahead of the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) in Kumasi. Mr Crabbe, a candidate alongside John Boadu, Paul Afoko, and Boakye Agyarko, has endorsed Mr Boadu as his preferred successor. Mr Boadu had been leading the ballot paper since the party’s September balloting process, while Mr Crabbe secured the second position. The announcement was made by Mr Boadu on social media, expressing excitement about the prospect of a united NPP. The NDC will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with over 7,000 delegates expected to participate in the election of the party’s national officers as part of their reorganisation efforts in preparation for the 2028 general election.",
