"account": "Former Energy Minister and 2024 presidential running mate of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has expressed no interest in the outcome of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) national delegates conference. During a recent interview on JoyNews, Prempeh, also known as NAPO, stated his confidence in Bawumia's leadership in the 2028 presidential election. The former Manhyia South MP explained that the decision to choose the party's candidate is ultimately up to the delegates. When asked about the NPP's prospects in the upcoming election, Prempeh mentioned that all Ghanaian elections have historically been competitive and that the final decision rests with the voters. He believes that the people will ultimately decide who can provide the country with the direction and hope they desire from 2029. Ultimately, Prempeh firmly stated that he believes the NPP will secure the victory with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia leading the party. The NPP delegates conference and elections are taking place at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, with over 7,000 delegates participating. The conference is also discussing proposed amendments to the party's constitution before electing national officers to oversee the party's organization in the lead-up to the 2028 general election.",
