"account": "President Donald Trump has pledged to broaden capital punishment in the U.S., following the failed execution of Christa Pike in Tennessee. This comes despite concerns from human rights campaigners and death penalty advocates. Trump stated during a rally in Mobile, Alabama, that the federal government will pass the death penalty for major drug dealers, human traffickers, and those who kill police officers. Pike, convicted of murdering a classmate in 1995, was set to be the first woman executed in Tennessee in over 200 years. However, her execution attempt was stopped after she was found to be critically ill and unconscious after receiving two doses of the lethal drug pentobarbital. Pike's lawyers argued she suffered a traumatic childhood and extensive sexual abuse, justifying her sentence to life imprisonment. The botched execution attempt has sparked outrage among those opposing capital punishment, with a majority of Americans now opposing the death penalty for murder.",
