"account": "On October 2, the Forest Department in Karwar carried out a major cleanup of the Kali river confluence, removing a staggering 1,825 kg of solid waste from the shoreline. The effort was part of the Wildlife Week-2026 celebrations and involved over 150 Forest Department personnel, 40 Rotary Club members and 40 Agniveer trainees. The collected waste comprised plastic and glass, discarded fishing nets, diapers, sanitary napkins, rubber materials and other debris that had accumulated along the coast. Following the cleanup, a rally was organised from the Deputy Commissioner's office, followed by a public programme at the 'Vanasiri' premises. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preventing plastic and solid waste accumulation in coastal habitats, protecting the fragile marine and coastal ecosystem.",
