Before diving into this new book, it's essential to review the key elements and developments from the previous works to fully appreciate the story. Following her dark experiences, Nesta trains with General Cassian to heal and becomes a Valkyrie, combining Illyrian and Valkyrie fighting techniques. She acquires the Dread Trove, a set of magical weapons that she uses to save her sister, Feyre, during childbirth. Nesta's bond with Cassian solidifies, and they plan their wedding, which Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court, funds.\n\nThroughout the series, various other characters have also seen significant developments. Elain Archeron, Nesta's sister, remains out of place at the Night Court, while Lucien Vanserra continues to travel the human lands, longing for his biological son and estranged from his lover, Tamlin.
