"account": "A 102-year-old woman tragically lost her life in the southeastern Spanish town of Madrigueras due to devastating floods, local authorities reported. The small town, home to approximately 4,000 residents, is situated near Albacete within the Castilla-La Mancha autonomous community. Flooding in the area prompted the rescue of 90 individuals. According to Spanish media, the elderly woman was discovered deceased in her residence, with floodwaters inundating her home to a depth of one meter (3.2 feet). The torrential rainfall responsible for the floods was attributed to prolonged downpours on Friday, with Madrigueras experiencing an astonishing 140 liters of precipitation per square meter. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez acknowledged the situation on social media platform X, expressing condolences to the deceased woman's family. Meteorologists predict that heavy rainfall will persist in eastern Spain throughout Sunday. This recent flooding episode follows Spain's hottest summer on record, which has led to deadly wildfires in both northern and southern regions of the country due to prolonged periods of extreme heat and aridity.",
