"account": "Nairobi, Kenya - On October 3, prominent opposition figures Uhuru Kenyatta, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Edwin Sifuna joined other mourners at the funeral service for Martha Karua's father, Mwalimu Jackson Karua, in Kirinyaga County. The gathering aimed to express condolences to Karua and her family, while also honoring the legacy of the late Mwalimu Njarubiu.\n\nMwalimu Njarubiu passed away at his family residence in Kirinyaga on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Martha Karua revealed that she and her siblings had spent time with their father earlier that day, singing his favorite gospel hymn, unaware that it would be their last moment together. She learned of his death while en route back to Nairobi.\n\nThe late Mwalimu Jackson Karua was remembered during a Thursday requiem Mass as not only a devoted teacher and disciplinarian but also a principled family man whose values deeply impacted his children and the broader community. The family will subsequently travel to Kathande, where Mwalimu Jackson Karua will be buried at their ancestral home.",
