"account": "Commanders General Manager Adam Peters has expressed immense admiration for veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota. During a recent appearance on the Sports Junkies radio show, Peters lauded Mariota's remarkable impact both on and off the field. After Mariota's stellar performance in the team's win against the Seahawks, Peters highlighted Mariota's exceptional character, stating that he is not only a talented player but also a genuinely remarkable individual. The GM further emphasized Mariota's significant influence within the team, particularly with Jayden Daniels, highlighting how he has helped navigate the complexities of being the second overall pick and a Heisman winner. Peters has gone on to describe Mariota as the best backup quarterback in the league and even a team captain, demonstrating his leadership qualities both in front and behind the scenes. The Eagles, known for their zone read option, missed out on the opportunity to retain Mariota following the 2023 season, a decision Peters finds puzzling, especially considering Mariota's unmatched proficiency in that particular play style. Moreover, Mariota has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the starter, Jalen Hurts, and the Commanders' management have received a formal request from the team's captains for Mariota to be installed as a permanent captain for the 2026 season. Peters' final statement regarding Mariota, \"There's very few people walking on this earth that are more impressive than Marcus Mariota,\" underscores the profound impact this player-coach has on the team, inspiring his peers with his humility and professionalism.",
