"account": "Alex de Minaur triumphed in a grueling three-set match to reach the quarterfinals of the China Open, facing off against world number 20 Andrey Rublev. The Australian battled for two hours and 47 minutes against French qualifier Quentin Halys, ultimately winning 3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5. Halys had served for the match at 5-3 in the second set but de Minaur remained resilient, breaking Halys' serve and sealing the tiebreak 7-5. This victory evened out de Minaur's head-to-head record against Halys at 2-2. De Minaur, who has had a mixed year, will face Rublev, who himself overcame a challenging path to victory over Roman Safiullin. Rublev's previous win included a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 triumph over fellow Russian Roman Safiullin. De Minaur's performance at the China Open could possibly replicate or surpass his semifinal appearance at the 2023 ATP 500 event, where he lost to then world number 1 Jannik Sinner. De Minaur's year has been a rollercoaster, starting strong with a last-eight run at the Australian Open, followed by a win in Rotterdam, a third-round exit at the French Open, and a second-round loss at Wimbledon before a surprising win over Alexander Zverev in the Davis Cup. He further boosted his morale by securing a victory at the Laver Cup.",
