"account": "Spanish cyclist Nil Gimeno Ferrer of Equipo Kern Pharma secured his first professional victory during Stage Seven of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026 on October 3. The 22-year-old sprinted to a win covering the 158.9-kilometer route from Melaka to Batu Pahat in three hours, 12 minutes, and 33 seconds. Gimeno Ferrer edged out Mario Aparicio Muñoz of Burgos-Burpellet-BH to finish in second place, with Andrei Stepanov of Wheeltop Rotor Chengdu Team claiming third. Despite the peloton's belief that a bunch sprint would occur, the four-man breakaway group maintained their pace throughout the day to achieve the surprise win. Gimeno Ferrer expressed his gratitude to his team management and staff for their unwavering support, even amid off-season sponsorship uncertainties. He also honored a close personal friend who has faced difficult times, dedicating his victory to them. Germany's Lennart Jasch of Tudor Pro Cycling Team maintained his overall lead in the event, with a 26-second lead over Abel Balderstone Roumens and 42 seconds ahead of Jan Castellon Ribalt. Italian sprinter Matteo Malucelli and Lennart Jasch both retained their respective jerseys for the remaining stages, while Yuhi Todome of Japan continued to hold the White Jersey in the Best Asian Rider category.",
