"summary": "The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi was illuminated on Friday, October 2, 2026, in tribute to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The visual tribute, organized by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), formed part of nationwide commemorations marking the beginning of a month-long programme dedicated to remembering Raila. Videos shared by ODM displayed an illuminated image of Raila projected onto the KICC, with the name \"Baba Raila Odinga\" prominently displayed. Candle-lighting ceremonies were held in various locations across Kenya, including Nairobi's Uhuru Park and county-specific gatherings, as the party launched its October activities dubbed \"Mwezi wa Baba\". Raila, widely known as Baba, remains a prominent political figure in Kenya's history, and his death in October 2025 sparked widespread mourning. The nationwide programme aims to celebrate his contributions to Kenya's political and democratic history and provide an opportunity for supporters and the public to reflect on his legacy.",
