Wong, a 22-year-old from Hong Kong, defeated Wu Yibing 6-2, 6-4 to claim the singles championship. This marks the first time a Hong Kong player has won a tennis gold at the Asian Games. Wong, ranked 100th worldwide, achieved his best performance at the 2025 US Open, reaching the third round of a Grand Slam. He moved to Spain to train under the guidance of Rafael Nadal at the Rafa Nadal Academy, and Nadal remains in touch with his progress. Wong mentioned that Nadal regularly checks in with his coaches, team atmosphere, and plans for Wong's future. Wong is excited about the prospect of competing in his first Olympics in Los Angeles 2028, but acknowledges there is still a long journey ahead as he continues to improve his skills.",
