"summary": "Over two days of heavy rain, Ho Chi Minh City was hit by more than 3,800 lightning strikes, according to data from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. The majority of these strikes occurred on September 30, with 1,457 ground strikes recorded in the city. Phu Giao Commune, in former Binh Duong Province, was the hardest-hit area, experiencing nearly 1,200 strikes between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on that day. On October 1, another 1,237 lightning strikes were recorded across the city, with nearly half of these occurring during heavy downpours between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. No casualties were reported as a result of these lightning strikes. The unusually frequent lightning was attributed to upper-atmospheric disturbances, wind convergence, and a low-pressure trough, which created an environment conducive to the rapid development of convective clouds.",
