"account": "On October 3, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced that Meta acknowledged a technical error in its system that incorrectly suspended legitimate WhatsApp users in Malaysia. MCMC received feedback from Meta regarding the issue, stating that the error was resolved at the end of September and affected over half of the cases in the initial batch submitted by MCMC. Meta confirmed that no changes were made to its enforcement policies or WhatsApp Terms of Service. The suspension of accounts could involve multiple factors, including recycled phone numbers associated with blocked accounts, spam or scam activity, and suspicious usage patterns. Business accounts may be suspended for sending messages without consent or in high volumes to non-contacts. MCMC has urged Meta to enhance its appeal and recovery processes, providing affected users with confirmation, information on the status of their review, and quicker action. MCMC advised users to use WhatsApp's official appeal and support channels. If Meta's measures are deemed inadequate, further regulatory action may be considered.",
