"account": "Meta acknowledged a technical glitch in its system that affected some WhatsApp accounts, according to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). The glitch led to legitimate user activity being incorrectly flagged as rule violations. MCMC received 92 complaints related to suspended, inaccessible, or unauthorized accessed accounts. Meta confirmed that no changes were made to its enforcement policies or terms of service. The company stated that account suspensions involved factors like recycled phone numbers, spam or scam activity, and usage patterns detected by its security systems. User reports also played a role in suspensions, though they were not the sole basis. Meta advised business users to obtain consent before sending bulk messages to avoid detection as spam. MCMC urged Meta to enhance its appeal and restoration processes, ensuring affected users receive confirmation, updates on the status, and clearer information on actions taken. The commission noted that further regulatory action would be considered if Meta's measures were found inadequate.",
