"account": "The Congress party in Punjab has appointed Pargat Singh as the new president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, replacing former Indian hockey captain Amrinder Singh Raja Warring. Warring had resigned from the post, blaming Sachin Pilot, the AICC Punjab in-charge, for his removal. The decision comes after months of factional conflict between Warring and former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. Pilot had reportedly advised the party high command that Warring could not inspire confidence among leaders and complicate efforts to win back Punjab. The leadership chose Singh, a 62-year-old MLA from Jalandhar Cantonment since 2012, as he is a well-known figure across Punjab and not a candidate for the CM post if the party wins power. Singh has a distinguished sports career, including Olympic medals and Arjuna Award, and has served in hockey administration roles in Punjab.",
