"account": "On Friday, United States national soccer team coach Mauricio Pochettino announced that Tyler Adams would serve as the team's captain throughout the lead-up to the 2030 World Cup. Speaking ahead of the US's friendly match against Mexico in Arizona on Saturday, Pochettino expressed his satisfaction at the decision. He highlighted the strong relationship they had developed over the past three years, asserting that Adams understood his expectations. Pochettino praised Adams for embodying the team's philosophy and culture, stating that he was the ideal candidate to lead the US in the forthcoming period. Adams, a 27-year-old player for Premier League club Bournemouth, has been a key figure in the US squad. He previously captained the team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar under coach Gregg Berhalter. Pochettino had previously named veteran defender Tim Ream as captain for the current World Cup cycle in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Ream later announced his retirement from international football. In his first press conference as captain, Adams expressed his desire to lead the team into a winning culture. As a midfielder, he noted that he had gained significant experience since leading the US at the 2022 World Cup, where the team was among the youngest at the tournament. He emphasized that receiving the captaincy did not alter his identity, reiterating that he would remain the same person.",
