"summary": "Two Iranian nationals, Rahman Salehi and Salam Ahmadyan, have been charged in the UK with preparing a terrorist attack against the Jewish community in northern England. According to the Jerusalem Post, the plot was allegedly planned for the eve of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.\n\nThe two men, aged 35 and 36, were arrested in Manchester on Sunday, September 20, shortly before the start of Yom Kippur, which ran from sundown on September 20 to nightfall on September 21. RTE News reports that they had allegedly been in contact with an overseas third party who may be in Iran in relation to the plot.\n\nThe men are accused of receiving instructions to make a chlorine bomb and acquiring materials required to manufacture an improvised explosive device. They are also accused of researching potential targets and conducting reconnaissance of potential locations for an attack. The pair will appear at London's Westminster Magistrates' Court. A fatal attack on a Manchester synagogue occurred nearly a year ago, on September 15, 2022, according to Le Monde English.",
