"account": "The US has arrested Greg Lui, a 38-year-old tech CEO, for allegedly smuggling $300 million worth of Nvidia chips into China, according to the Department of Justice. Lui, CEO of Earthmade Computer, is accused of using false paperwork to cover up shipments of servers destined for China. The FBI's indictment alleges that Lui conspired with freight-forwarding firms in countries like Malaysia and Singapore to illegally divert Nvidia's A100 and H100 GPUs, which are not the company's most advanced but can process large data sets and train large language models. These chips could pose national security risks for the US if China gains sufficient access to them, potentially accelerating AI development or strengthening China's military capabilities.",
