"account": "The Kebbi State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has dismissed the promises made by ADC governorship candidate, Abubakar Malami, regarding workers' welfare, labeling them as mere political statements. NLC chairman in Kebbi, Usman Murtala, made this assertion in a statement issued from Birnin Kebbi in response to Malami's Independence Day address. Murtala asserted that Malami's pledges on pensions and gratuities did not align with the actual situation in Kebbi, claiming that retired civil servants had been receiving their payments without any delays. He also rejected Malami's proposal to increase the minimum wage for Kebbi workers to N110,000, stating that the state government already pays N75,000, which includes leave grants. Murtala stated that although the union typically avoids political disagreements, he felt it necessary to respond to claims concerning workers' welfare and conditions of service. He further urged politicians to verify their facts before making public statements on matters affecting workers.",
