"summary": "Sony is in talks to acquire the film rights to adapt the popular video game \"Battlefield\" into a movie. The project is being led by Christopher McQuarrie, who is set to write, direct, and produce the film, and Michael B. Jordan, who is attached to produce and potentially star.\n\nThe \"Battlefield\" video game series, developed by Electronic Arts, has been a bestseller since its launch in 2002. The series has expanded to various platforms and covered different time periods, including Vietnam and the far future. According to TheWrap, the most recent game, \"Battlefield 6\", was one of the most expensive video games ever created and became the bestselling game of last year.\n\nA multi-studio bidding war ensued for the film rights, with Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon MGM Studios, Universal, and Netflix also submitting bids. Producers involved in the project include Jesse Stern of Electronic Arts, Carter Swan of Emerald Neon, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo, and Elizabeth Raposo of Outlier Society. Sony declined to comment on the negotiations.",
