"account": "The Detroit Pistons were determined to retain their All-NBA center, Jalen Duren, even as negotiations stalled for four months. The team finally reached a breakthrough, agreeing on a fully guaranteed five-year, $200 million contract extension with the 22-year-old big man. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff expressed excitement about Duren's return, emphasizing that the team had always planned to keep him and that he remains integral to their future success. Duren agreed to the deal despite the organization initially offering him a $92 million lower contract worth $195 million. After accepting the extension, Duren returned to the Henry Ford Health Performance Center but missed four consecutive days of training camp practice. He did return to the practice facility to complete his physical exam. The Pistons' head coach reiterated that Duren's absence from recent practices was not a cause for concern, and the team is confident he is in excellent condition. The Detroit News reported that Duren's return is a positive development for the team, as he posted career-high numbers in double-doubles, points, and rebounds last season, earning him his first All-Star selection and All-NBA Third Team honors.",
