"account": "CBS has officially parted ways with former NFL quarterback Tony Romo after both parties mutually agreed to his departure on Friday. Romo's suspension for an OWI arrest in the summer has overshadowed his future as the top color commentator alongside CBS's star play-by-play broadcaster, Jim Nantz, on the flagship NFL Sunday broadcasts. However, J.J. Watt has been filling in for Romo this season alongside Nantz.\n\nRomo's tenure as one of the most prominent color commentators in NFL broadcasting is now over. Despite this, Watt will continue to hold the position for the remainder of the season, serving as a long-term audition for the main job. CBS confirmed Romo's release, but it would not be surprising if the network pursues Greg Olsen in 2027, who was demoted from the top Fox NFL color commentary job following Tom Brady's arrival. Olsen is widely regarded as one of the best in the business.\n\nThis significant change holds a new opportunity for Watt to solidify his position for the future. Romo addressed his departure in a statement, expressing pride in his nine-year tenure at CBS Sports and his commitment to being the best he can be. He plans to use this time to further his career. For The Win reported on Romo's departure and his statement.",
