"account": "The Congress party in Punjab has appointed Pargat Singh as the new chief of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, succeeding Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, ANI reported. The appointment comes after Warring's resignation earlier in the day and is set to take effect immediately. The Congress party acknowledged Warring's contributions during his tenure as Punjab Congress president, a role he held since 2022. This leadership change is happening in advance of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, as the Congress aims to reorganize its state unit following their loss in the 2022 elections to the Aam Aadmi Party. Warring stated that he conveyed his views on the state party organization to Rahul Gandhi, and expressed his satisfaction with his four-and-a-half years in the role, believing a tenure should be remembered for the work done during it.",
