"account": "KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim praised Malaysian athletes for securing three additional gold medals at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The achievement, which brought Malaysia's gold medal count to nine, showcased the athletes' exceptional talent and perseverance. Anwar stated that the national team's continued success aimed to honor the country's pride on the Asian stage, equaling Malaysia's highest gold medal haul at the Asian Games, achieved at the 2010 Guangzhou edition. The three gold medals were earned by track cycling star Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang in the men's keirin event at the Izu Velodrome, as well as in the women's and men's team squash competitions at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena. The women's team, consisting of Aifa Azman, S. Sivasangari, Aira Azman, and Rachel Arnold, defeated Hong Kong 2-1 in the final, while the men's squad of Ng Eain Yow, Sanjay Jeeva, C. Ameeshenraj, and Mohammad Syafiq Kamal triumphed over Pakistan 2-0. Anwar expressed his gratitude to Malaysians for their prayers for the athletes competing in tomorrow's finals, including the men's padel pairing of Christian Didier Chin and Aidan Yunus, and the men's hockey squad.",
