"account": "In a tragic incident in Gora village, Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State, a 25-year-old herder named Safiyanu Abubakar was killed by suspected cattle rustlers on October 1. The attackers also reportedly killed one cow during the raid. Security analyst Zagazola Makama claimed that troops from Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, Operation Enduring Peace responded to a distress call around 9:30 a.m. and discovered Abubakar's body, which showed gunshot wounds. The attackers had also shot another cow before fleeing the scene. Troops collected Abubakar's body and the affected cattle, handing them over to his family. Intelligence efforts were ramped up to track down the assailants and investigate the incident. Efforts were also made to engage local Fulani leaders in Jos East LGA to ease tensions and prevent potential retaliation. Cattle rustling and retaliatory violence against herders remain a significant security issue in Plateau State, with authorities urging communities to stay calm and provide accurate information for investigations.",
