"account": "The Ogun State Police Command has announced that three individuals will face arraignment before the Ago-Iwoye Magistrate Court on Friday, following allegations of assault and obstruction against police officers. The suspects, identified as Alaba Mulika, 51 years old, Alawode Iyanu, 21, and Temitope Saliu, 29, were informed of the proceedings via a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.\n\nThe incident transpired on September 29, 2026, when a police team, led by ASP Akeredolu Emmanuel, intercepted an unregistered Toyota Camry at Fibigbade Street, Ago-Iwoye. As the vehicle was being taken to the station, a Toyota Highlander, with registration number JJJ 215 JV, allegedly obstructed its movement at Abobi Street. According to the command, a physical altercation ensued, during which two officers, INSPR Abolarinwa Wasiu and CPL Olubamiro Adeniyi, were allegedly assaulted.\n\nVideo recordings of the incident, which quickly spread across social media, were part of the evidence reviewed during the investigation. Following orders from the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, detectives conducted an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the event, visited the scene, and subsequently arrested the three suspects.\n\nThe five charges against the suspects include conspiracy, obstruction of police officers, alleged serious assault on the officers, and conduct that may lead to a breach of peace. The Commissioner of Police re-emphasized the command's commitment to safeguarding the wellbeing and protection of police officers performing their lawful duties.\n\nBabaseyi urged the public to utilize lawful channels when lodging complaints, urging against any physical confrontation with police personnel. Updates on the case will be provided as developments warrant.",
